marianne wasn’t a groupie though, she and mick jagger had a relationship
I understand where your coming from with this comment, but for me “groupie” is a celebrated term for all the incredible muses from the past. I don’t think of the term groupie solely as someone who sleeps with rockstars to get close to someone famous, I know that is unfortunately what it’s become but for me, I tend to think of wives, girlfriends, etc. Marianne, Anita, Pattie Boyd, Pamela, Cynthia…. the list goes on and on. All were incredible women in their own right, had their own successful careers and all of them inspired some of the greatest songs in history. I just want to clarify that since I kinda feel like you see the term “groupie” in a negative way which I disagree with completely. I could be wrong but because this is the third time I’ve noticed you’ve commented to me about Marianne not being a groupie I thought I’d explain where I’m coming from. I label Marianne as “groupie” on my blog because she inspired some of my favorite songs ever and I tag her alongside all the other amazing ladies who share that feat so that I can see them all under a certain tag. I been a huge fan Marianne for over a decade, I got to see her in concert a few years back, she was amazing. She may be a musician first, but she will always also be one of the greatest muses for one of the best rock n roll bands in history. Let’s celebrate both. :)
